Business Profile

Business Profile holds your company's details. Gene App reads these for outreach, scheduling, and the way your business is presented to leads.

Important

There is no Save or Update button. Every field saves on its own: text after a short pause in typing, dropdowns and checkboxes the moment you pick. Each card shows Saving..., then Saved in its header, or "Not saved. Try again" with a Try again link if a save fails.

General Information#

• Logo on light backgrounds: used on light backgrounds: your property portal (the header of every page and the sign-in screens), your booking page, your forms and your appointment emails. The proposed size is 350px x 180px, no bigger than 2.5 MB. It saves the moment you upload it.
• Logo on dark backgrounds: optional. A version of your logo that reads on dark, used on your booking page and on the portal in dark mode. Without it, the first logo is used everywhere.
• Friendly Business Name: the display name for your business. It cannot be left empty: a blank name shows "Add a business name." and is not saved.
  • It also sets your workspace address. A name of RE House gives crm.gene.so/re-house, and the address shows under the field. If another workspace already uses that name, yours gets the next free number, for example crm.gene.so/re-house-2.
  • Change the name and the address follows. Old links and bookmarks take people to the same page at the new address. Your portal address and your Gene email address (<your workspace>@mail.gene.so) use the same name and change with it, and the old ones keep working, so links you already sent buyers and email forwards you already set up need no change.
• Public Display Name: what leads see on your booking page, in appointment emails, and from your AI assistant. Leave it empty to use your friendly business name.
• Legal Business Name: shown by your AI assistant as your official company name.
• Business Email: primary contact email for the business.
• Business Website: your official website. Your AI assistant sends this link whenever a lead asks for your website, so keep it filled in.
  • You can type it plain (yourcompany.com) and it is turned into a full link.
  • If you also run a client portal, the portal never replaces this link. The assistant shares your website first and mentions the portal as the place documents live.
• Business Currency: used for every amount Gene shows: analytics, goals, briefings. Defaults to USD.

Business Address#

• Street Address: your AI assistant uses this when leads ask where you are.
• City: city name.
• Country: your country. It also sets the default timezone. Changing it clears the State/Region field when the new country has different subdivisions.
• State / Prov / Region: a dropdown when your country has known subdivisions, otherwise a free-text field. Disabled until a country is chosen.

Tips#

• Changes save as you make them, card by card. Watch the card's header for Saved.
• Your timezone is set under My Profile, not here. The CEO briefing, scheduling, and analytics all read that one timezone.

Details#

The input types on Business Profile, for when you need to look one up. Business Profile appears in Settings only where enabled for your account. It has three cards (General Information, Business Address, General), and each one autosaves with its own status in the card header.

• Uploads: Logo on light backgrounds and Logo on dark backgrounds.
• Text fields: Friendly Business Name, Public Display Name, Legal Business Name, Street Address and City.
• Typed fields: Business Email takes an email address, and Business Website a web address.
• Dropdowns: Business Currency, Country, and State / Prov / Region (when the country has subdivisions).
• Checkboxes: the three options on the General card.

Every logo you upload here also lands in Files, in a folder called Brand, so the QR code editor and the WhatsApp profile photo can pick it again without a new upload.
