Affiliates

Overview#

Affiliates is the referral program under Marketing in the left sidebar. Share your own link, and every workspace that signs up through it earns you 10% of everything it ever pays Gene App:

• Subscriptions and credit top-ups alike.
• On what was actually paid, after any discount.
• For as long as that workspace stays.

Referring costs nothing and spends no credits, so the page keeps working at 0 credits and with no card on file. Nothing asks you for a plan here: the plan dialog only opens when you try something in the app that needs a plan or credits.

Joining#

Nobody is an affiliate by default.

1. Open the Affiliates tab. The first time, it explains the offer and shows one button.
2. Press Get my affiliate link.

Your link is created on the spot. There is nothing to fill in and no approval to wait for.

Your link#

Your link is crm.gene.so/a/<your code>, where the code is your workspace's name. crm.gene.so/partners/<your code> works the same way.

• Copy link copies it.
• WhatsApp and Email open a message with a short pitch and the link already in it.
• The link opens a Gene App page made for your referral rather than the general website.
• A click never expires, so someone can sign up months later and still count as yours.
• Someone you gave the code to instead of the link can type it under Have a referral code? on the sign-up form.

The four numbers#

Taking out what you earned#

Yours to take out shows what you have earned and not used yet. There are two ways to use it.

Convert to credits#

Convert to credits adds it to this workspace's balance at your plan's own rate per credit (66¢ on Starter down to 33¢ on Business), the same rate as buying credits.

• It is instant and cannot be undone.
• It needs an active plan.

Cash out#

Cash out sends it to your bank.

• The first time, the button reads Set up payouts (or Finish payout setup if you started). You verify your details once with Stripe, which runs the checks itself. Gene App never sees your documents.
• When Stripe cannot be reached, the button reads Request payout instead, and someone from Gene arranges the transfer by hand. The amount stays reserved for you until then.

Automatic payouts#

Automatic payouts are off until you set them.

1. Pick how often: daily, weekly (on a day you choose), monthly (on a date you choose), or every so many days.
2. Slide how each payout splits between your bank and Gene App credits.

A line under the controls says exactly when your balance goes out. Changes save on their own.

• Nothing is sent below the minimum shown on the card; it rolls into the next run.
• A bank share needs payouts set up with Stripe first.

Cash-out history#

The history appears after your first cash-out. Each one is marked Sent to your bank, Paid or Waiting on us.

A cash-out that could not go through is not listed. The money is back under Yours to take out, and the Gene team has been alerted.

What the people you invite get#

• They start with 50 free credits instead of 25, with no card needed, and the credits never expire.
• Their first paid month comes with double the credits. That bonus is for the first paid month only, so it does not apply to someone who stays on the free plan.

Who can do what#

• Anyone on the team can press Get my affiliate link and share it.
• Converting, cashing out and automatic payouts are for Managers, because the balance belongs to the workspace.
• External Partner and Tech seats do not see the tab.

Tips#

• If you introduce another partner, tell the Gene team so they can link that partner to you. They keep their full 10%, and you earn 5% on top of what their referrals pay. It goes one level deep only.
• Gene App does not do the outreach for you or find people to refer. The link and the WhatsApp and email buttons are there to make your own outreach quick.
