Lead Temperature

Define what cold, warm and hot mean for your team, so the AI grades leads by your rules.

Lead temperature is where you define what cold, warm and hot mean for your team. The assistant reads your descriptions and updates a lead's temperature during the conversation whenever your conditions match.

The three rule cards live in the Conversion section of the AI page, below follow-ups.

Overview#

You write three plain-English descriptions, one per level.

  • The assistant applies them every turn during a conversation, and updates the contact the moment a description matches.
  • It uses only the rules you wrote, not its own judgment.
  • Once you change these descriptions, a visit date, booking link or appointment does not automatically make a lead Hot. The conversation must meet your Hot rule. Your team's manual changes and incoming lead-routing rules still apply.
  • It moves a lead up only when it can quote words the lead themself wrote that meet your rule. The assistant's own words never count as evidence.
  • Before it moves a lead up under your own rules, it makes a second, strict yes/no check: do the quoted words meet your rule for that level exactly as written, exclusions included? If the answer is no, or the check fails, the temperature stays where it is.
  • A visit or travel date, a budget, a question about meetings, viewings or free times, and a wish to talk are not a buying timeline. They only count if your rule says so in so many words (the default Hot rule below does name appointments and viewings).
  • During a conversation it can move a lead up (cold to warm to hot), but it does not move a lead down.
  • With Confirm form answers before using them on (AI > Sales agent), a timeline or budget the lead typed on a form does not make them warm or hot until they confirm it in the chat. See Confirm form answers before using them.
  • Each description saves on its own, about 600 milliseconds after your last keystroke, with a Saving... / Saved marker, or "Not saved. Try again" with a Try again link if a save fails.

A "How this works" box sits above the three cards.

What you can do#

Each card is a multi-line description of when a lead should get that temperature.

CardDefault description
Cold (cyan, snowflake)"A new lead with no qualifying information yet. They have not shown real engagement and are just browsing or asking general questions. Default for newly created contacts."
Warm (orange, thermometer)"The lead has confirmed BOTH their budget AND their timeline (when they want to buy / move). If only one of these is known, keep them cold."
Hot (red, flame)"The lead is showing real interest in a conversion step. For example: they asked about an appointment, asked to view a property, asked how to make an offer, or otherwise indicated they want to move forward soon."

Reset to defaults restores all three descriptions to the defaults above.

Tips#

  • Write in plain English and name the exact signals, conditions or behaviors. The assistant looks for them every turn.
  • The defaults make a good starting point; adjust them to match how your team actually grades leads.
  • If you want a date or a budget to count, say so in the rule (for example "Hot: the lead has given a date they want to buy by"). Otherwise it is ignored.
  • Temperature only moves up during a chat, so set your "hot" bar to the genuine buying signals you do not want missed.
